One HELL of a Day

Hey guys. Yesterday started out great and was really a good day for my training and diet. I got up at 6 am and did my first morning walk in ages. I went 3 miles in 43:21. Not to shabby considering that I only walked and the fact that my route around campus seems to be on big hill. It will be a few sessions before I'm able to wog on this course. I'm feeling pretty stiff and sore from yesterday (could be from the gym or the wreck though) so I'm just going to take it easy.

Now to the hellish part of the day. For those who don't already know, I had a pretty bad accident yesterday. I'm fine, but my car (my baby) is hurt pretty bad. I think she'll be ok in the end, she just doesn't look pretty.

Here's what happened: I was on my way to the bookstore in Flowood (East of Jackson) in the rain, which was my first mistake I'm sure. It's all interstate and highway the whole way, so I thought nothing of it. Well along that route, there is a point where I-20 East and I-55 North merge. As I was coming along to that intersection there was a lady in a van in front of me who was freaked out by an 18-Wheeler merging onto the road. The Old Bat swerved into my lane causing me to freak out and hit the breaks. Since it had been raining, my breaks locked up and I hydroplaned. I lost control of the car, doing several skids (including one near 360) before bashing into the barrier wall. Thank God no one else was involved and that the only casualties was my car and my pride. I was pretty shaken up (seeing that this incident was my first near death experience, ha ha) but I'm fine.

But my friends came through for me. They saw how upset I was over my car (first decent looking car I get and this happens) so they pitched in and fixed it for me.

My friend Anna fixed her up really nice don't you think?

I think it looks just like new, don't you think?
